Dental Veneers

‘The most important thing you wear is your smile.’   If you are embarrassed to smile because of the way your teeth look,  dental veneers may provide you with a long term aesthetic solution.  Dental veneers can be used to create a complete smile makeover or in the correction of just one or two teeth.  Veneers can help in correcting the appearance of teeth that are:

  • Stained
  • Discoloured
  • Misaligned (gaps, spaces, or crowding)
  • Narrow or short
  • Broken

There are two types of dental veneers

Composite veneers can be placed in a single visit.  The material used, is the same as that used for white fillings.  Composite veneers are suitable for a small number of teeth, and subtle shape changes.

The cost is significantly less than porcelain veneers, however they will need replacement every three to five year.  Chips and discolouration may also occur.  If you would like to experiment with a solution that is easily reversible, composite veneers are a great option.

Porcelain veneers are thin, tooth coloured porcelain shells that are custom made by our dental ceramicist to bond to the front surface of your teeth.  A small amount of enamel is removed from the front of your teeth to accommodate the veneers, which means this process is irreversible.  Porcelain veneers have an average life expectancy of around 10 years but can last longer if looked after.
